Moving my blog

So, I started this blog 2 months ago and only have two posts.  I wondered if it would last, and I guess I got my answer.  I decided, however, to move my commentary to my Shutterfly account so that I could upload pictures once and that would be it.  I made a yearbook for 2010 at the beginning of the year and it took forever to upload all of the pictures that I loved from the year since I didn't do it all year long.  I'm hoping that maybe if I do the "blog" thing to journal our life, then maybe I'll do a better job uploading pictures throughout the year for a yearbook.  Anyway, that's my hope.  You can find my new site at:

Thanks for looking!

A Time to Rest

I have studied it before, but I am going to dedicate this year to studying through the Proverbs 31 wife and slowly absorbing what the Lord shows me.  Typing out the verses for this blog, I am struck by how busy the woman seems to be each day.  I do not want to "eat the bread of idleness" but I get tired and feel the need to rest, too.  I think my problem is discovering the borderline between taking a rest and becoming lazy.  I desire for my life to be pleasing to the Lord, and thus, the things that I do each day to reflect that.  I have often struggled with finding a good time to spend in the Word and in prayer, in fellowship with my loving Savior each day.  I read this passage about the woman getting up before dawn to prepare breakfast and plan the day, so I think, "I need to go to bed earlier to be able to get up earlier."  Then, I see where her light stays on late into the night.  Whew!  When does this woman sleep?  My prayer is that I will be able to utilize my time wisely and be a good example to my children of a woman who serves the Lord in everything she does.  I just need to find that balance.

Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word, your love letter to your children, helping us to see how you want us to strive to live for you.  Please forgive me for times of idleness, especially those times when I can hear you whispering in my ear to be doing something else with my time and I don't listen to you.  Please help me to listen and to find a balance in my life.  I love you, Jesus.

Well, everyone else is doing it...

I'm not sure if this blog will amount to anything, but I thought it might be a nice way to share my life with family and friends.  Bear with me as this is all new to me!  I hope it will allow me to be honest about my faith, share pictures and daily life from my family, and maybe even share some of my cooking projects.  Thank you in advance for following!
